STONES
About thirty years ago, while walking on the long beach in Newcastle, Northern Ireland, with his Italian friend, discussing never exhausting questions about the human existence, Vinko gazed down at the pebbles and said: “You know, many stories are written on those stones” His friend smiled and replied: “Si, quelle sono le pietre parlanti” (Yes, those are ‘talking stones’), telling us so many things we still don’t know”

That afternoon on the beach, Vinko discovered several stones with fractured shapes that reminded him of his Art of Healing theme, which he had recently begun exploring in his paintings.

Those basalt stones, were subjected to intense heat and pressure many years ago, split open and divided. Over time, crystals formed within the cracks, filling the gaps and holding the stones together as one.
Vinko saw the link with them that perfectly fitted his “The Art Of Healing” idea and theme.

The next day, Vinko reflected on their conversation, and his imagination began the journey into the story of the stones and found myself translating their silent language into his art.
